In “A Tease and a Trail Run,” Charlotte loves to crochet. The shawl in the photo is a Virus shawl, the kind she’s making for her Aunt Eleanor.
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was six, but I never finished anything until my oldest son asked me to teach him to crochet. Since then, I’ve made prayer shawls and lap blankets and scarves and loveys. I’ve also taken up knitting and learned to love handknit socks.
Handknits make hard winters easier to bear, don’t you think?
